Job Description

The company is looking for an experienced 5 Axis Mastercam Programmer who can independently develop CNC machining programs, operate advanced 5-axis milling machines, and manufacture precision aerospace components.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Mastercam programming, CNC machine setup, toolpath simulation, G-code verification, engineering drawings, and GD&T.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mastercam Programming

• Develop and optimize complex 3+2 and simultaneous 5-axis CNC milling programs.
• Create efficient machining toolpaths using Mastercam.
• Simulate and verify CNC programs before production.
• Improve machining accuracy and production efficiency.

2. CNC Machine Setup & Operation

• Independently set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Perform machine fixture and tool setup.
• Work with Siemens, Fanuc, or Haas controllers.
• Ensure accurate machining operations.

3. Simulation & Program Verification

• Perform toolpath simulations before production.
• Verify post-processed G-code.
• Conduct collision checks.
• Ensure safe and accurate first-off production.

4. Engineering Drawing & GD&T

• Read and understand complex engineering drawings.
• Interpret 3D CAD models.
• Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ensure components meet required engineering specifications.

5. Tool & Material Selection

Select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and fixtures for different materials, including:

• Stainless Steel
• Titanium
• Inconel
• Aluminium
• Engineering Polymers

6. Quality Control

• Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments.
• Use micrometers and height gauges.
• Perform dimensional inspection using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Maintain required machining tolerances.

7. Troubleshooting & Process Improvement

• Troubleshoot tool wear and machining chatter.
• Resolve thermal distortion and dimensional accuracy problems.
• Reduce machining cycle times.
• Improve tool life and machining strategies.
• Mentor junior operators and machinists.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Candidates should have the following qualifications and technical skills:

1. Minimum 5 years of Mastercam programming experience.
2. Minimum 5 years of 5-axis milling machine experience.
3. Strong knowledge of CNC programming.
4. Experience with simultaneous 5-axis machining.
